One Malam Kabiru Mohammed has been reportedly killed by gunmen suspected to be assassins in Kaduna State.
30-year-old Mohammed was the village head of Marke in Dandamisa Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area of the State.
He was brutally murdered at his residence by the gunmen who stormed the ward around 12.30am on Thursday.
Mohammed, alongside his elder brother, Tukur Mohammed, was said to have hidden in the ceiling of his roof when he got wind of the gunmen presence in their domain.
The village head and his elder brother were said to be the primary target of the gunmen.
But, the Gunmen, on arrival, sent out everyone in the compound and continued their search for them.
According to a member of the community who pleaded anonymity, the victim was later found by the gunmen who slaughtered him and set the house ablaze.
The councilor of Dandamisa Ward, Aminu Sani Marke, confirmed the incident.
He said the body of the late village head could not be recovered as the house was burnt down.
“The gunmen spent about one hour operating in the village and went away with valuables worth millions of naira.” he said
The Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command did not pick his calls, and did not respond to his text message
