The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Illela Border Command has arrested three suspected victims of human trafficking and migrant smuggling.

According to the Controller of Immigration, Illela Border, Mr. Ismaila Usman, the victims were en route to Oman but failed to produce the necessary travel documents during interrogation.

“We have handed them over to the zonal commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) in charge of Sokoto and Kebbi commands.”

The controller emphasized that his command is fully ready and committed to fighting human trafficking and smuggling of migrants in Sokoto State.

According to him, the operation marks a significant milestone in the fight against human trafficking and migrant smuggling in Nigeria.
