Five-storey building collapses in Anambra school

A five-storey building on Wednesday collapsed in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The building was under construction at the Dennis Memorial Grammar School before it collapse at about 7.15 am.

It was gathered that the building being constructed by the Anglican School had reached the finishing stages when it caved in.

A source in the school said the building started caving in from the last floor until it came down, adding that no life was lost in the incident.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the school had invested a huge amount of money to erect the structure.

He added that the failed structure did not cause any danger as the students’ hostel was far from the building site which saved the situation
