Temitope Adetanju, 25, was arrested in Ogun State for allegedly inserting a piece of firewood into the private parts of a 12-year-old girl accused of stealing items worth N650 in Isewo, Obada Oko, Ewekoro Local Government Area.
The stolen items included biscuits worth N200, Milo beverage worth N150, and fruit juice worth N300.
The incident occurred around 11:00 am on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
The girl endured severe physical punishment from her guardian due to her alleged theft.
The Divisional Police Officer in Obada-Oko detained Adetanju.
State police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the arrest, stating that Adetanju admitted to the accusations. Investigations are ongoing to fully examine the incident.
