Alia to Revive Taraku Mills and Renovate Dilapidated Schools in Benue

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has pledged to revive the long-abandoned Taraku Mills Ltd. and renovate all dilapidated schools in the Gwer/Gwer Federal Constituency.

Governor Alia visited the constituency on Saturday and thanked the residents for their support during the 2023 general elections. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), this visit was part of his gratitude tour.

Alia praised the community for safeguarding the Taraku Mills from vandalism and announced that his administration had started the revival process. “Reviving this company will boost the state’s economy, create jobs, and provide social security for our people,” he stated.

Additionally, the governor promised to renovate and upgrade all secondary schools in the area, especially those participating in exchange programs for students nationwide.

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support his government has received, Alia assured the people he would not let them down. Regarding ongoing land disputes in the area, he mentioned that the boundary commission would soon demarcate all disputed lands and urged communities to respect the commission’s decisions.

Earlier, Senator Barnabas Gemade, Chairman of the Elders Forum of the All Progressives Congress in the state, commended Governor Alia for his integrity and commitment.
