  • The FCT police arrested Sunday Musa, a PoS operator accused of supplying sex workers and money to bandits in Kaduna
  • Musa confessed to distributing over N20 million to bandits’ families and facilitating the movement of nurses, drugs, and sex workers

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has apprehended Sunday Musa, also known as Dan Gwari, a Point of Sale (PoS) operator accused of supplying sex workers to bandits and distributing money to their families in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Benneth Igweh, the FCT commissioner of police, disclosed this while parading the suspect at the command in Abuja on Tuesday. Musa was arrested during a coordinated clearance operation by operatives of the anti-kidnap unit of the command at Kagarko.

Igweh stated that Musa was not only involved in supplying sex workers but also acted as the chief informant and logistics supplier for bandit groups under the command of a leader named Ardo, who is currently on the run. The suspect reportedly facilitated the movement of nurses, hard drugs, and sex workers on request from the banditry groups.

“The suspect has also confessed to being a financial courier through which money is distributed or shared with the bandits’ families. He confessed to having distributed over N20 million on behalf of the bandits,” Igweh said.

Additionally, Musa confirmed that the bandits, led by Ardo, comprise over 15 members, all armed with AK-47 rifles.

In a related development, the police also arrested Ruqquaya Ibrahim, a 41-year-old housewife, who allegedly supplied foodstuff and other logistics to the bandits. Ibrahim, a resident of Sabon-Wuse, Niger State, confessed to supplying food items to a group under the command of Shumau, who is also on the run.

Igweh revealed that Ibrahim was arrested at Gidan-Dogo forest while en route to supply food to the bandits. She subsequently led the police to Shumau’s residence, where 14 rustled cows were recovered.

The police commissioner emphasized that these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the operational networks of bandit groups in the region.
