Infuriated by her admonition, Samson took a knife and stabbed his mother.

Samson’s elder brother, a sickle cell patient, was said to have raised alarm, which attracted people into the compound where they saw the body of the deceased in a pool of blood.

In a video posted on X by a user identified as Ose, Samson was captured with the knife he allegedly used to kill his mother.

Close relatives familiar with the matter said that the family resides on Jehovah Street, Obiedike, Obiaruku.

They disclosed that Samson was initially sent to Asaba, the capital of Delta State, to learn a trade after completing secondary school.

However, he was brought back a few months later after mixing with a group of young friends who introduced him to drugs that affected his mental health.

He was subsequently brought back to Obiaruku and his mother took him to a traditional mental health facility for treatment.

Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the crime and Samson’s arrest by the police.
