  • This deplorable act is a clear violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

The United Nigerians Against Crimes (UNAC) has expressed outrage over a disturbing video circulating online.

The video appears to show individuals posing as security agents, allegedly from the Nigeria Police or Department of State Services, brutally assaulting a politician.

The victim, Alh. Abdulmajid Danbilki Komanda, was reportedly targeted for criticizing the governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani.

The video shows the individuals mercilessly flogging Komanda, highlighting the brutality and abuse of power.

The video depicts a harrowing scene where the victim is handcuffed, made to kneel, and subjected to inhumane treatment.

This deplorable act is a clear violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

This was contained in a statement by Dr. Abdullahi Yunusa Bayawo, Director General, United Nigerians Against Crimes (UNAC)on Friday.

The statement reads in full: “The United Nigerians Against Crimes (UNAC) is appalled by a viral video circulating online, which appears to show some persons that pose as security agents, allegedly from the Nigeria Police or Department of State Services, brutally flogging a politician, Alh. Abdulmajid Danbilki Komanda, for criticising the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani.

“”In the disturbing video, the victim is seen handcuffed, made to kneel down, and subjected to inhumane treatment. This deplorable act is a flagrant violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

“We are shocked that security agents could descend to such lows, using their authority to perpetrate heinous crimes. The Governor of Kaduna State is not above the law and cannot be shielded from criticism. Every citizen has the right to express their opinions and beliefs without fear of retribution.

“We demand an immediate investigation into this matter by the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of Department of State Services. We also urge the Governor of Kaduna State to produce those people or direct those involved to present themselves to security agents for investigation within seven days of this press release or face possible further actions to be taken by this organisation that he might not find palatable.

“UNAC will not stand idly by while citizens are brutalised and intimidated by those who claim to uphold the law. We will continue to monitor this situation closely and take appropriate action against anyone found guilty of these heinous crimes.

“We call on all Nigerians to join us in condemning this act of brutality and demanding justice for Alh. Abdulmajid Danbilki Komanda. UNAC will not hesitate to take action against anyone who commits acts of criminality, regardless of their position or influence. We demand justice and an end to impunity in Nigeria.”
