  • She was lured to a night party, after being offered N15,000 to pose as a girlfriend

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of suspects connected to the killing of 21-year-old Awesu Mojisola, a student of the Kwara State College of Health Technology.

Mojisola’s body was found on a refuse dump near the Aleniboro area of Ilorin, Kwara State. Her disappearance was first reported on August 9, 2024, by her roommate, Miss Blessing.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, revealed that one of the suspects, Miss Timileyin, had introduced Mojisola to Mr. Adebayo Happiness, a student at Summit University. Happiness allegedly lured the victim to a night party, offering to pay her N15,000 to pose as his girlfriend.

According to the police statement, the crime was reported on August 12, 2024, by Mr. Olorunoje, who was alerted by laborers after they discovered the body on August 11. A police team arrived at the scene, where they found traces of blood near the victim’s left ear. The body was taken to the General Hospital in Ilorin, where she was confirmed dead and later identified as Mojisola.
