Tragedy struck early Friday morning when a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus overturned on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, leaving 11 people injured. The accident occurred around 7:45 am within the dedicated BRT lane.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) reported that emergency responders quickly arrived to provide medical aid and transport the injured to nearby hospitals.

In a statement on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, LASTMA said, “A fully loaded high-capacity bus fell on its side inside the dedicated BRT lane with a record of 10 casualties, who have been taken care of.”

In a separate incident, a loaded truck fell at Durbar junction on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, obstructing traffic toward Alakija. LASTMA officers promptly redirected traffic through the service lane to ease the gridlock.
