  • The farmers were said to have been killed on Thursday between 12 and 1 pm while they were working on their farms.

Four farmers have reportedly been killed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists wreaking havoc in Borno State.

The incident happened in Kerawa, a border community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

The farmers were said to have been killed on Thursday between 12 and 1 pm while they were working on their farms.

This is coming barely two months after multiple explosions killed over 30 persons in Gwoza town.

The counsellor of Jimini ward, Bukar Aji and the chairman of Kerawa Community Association, Yakubu Ali, confirmed the incident.

Kerawa is a border town with Cameroon in the Mandara Mountains, where the terrorists are known to be hiding.

The Divisional Police Officer of Gwoza Division said the attack could be from Kerawa, Cameroon, and not the Nigerian Kerawa.

He disclosed that there was a similar killing some weeks back in Kerawa, Cameroon, but the people confused it for the Nigerian Kerawa.

Gwoza was once declared the caliphate of the terrorists when it was captured in 2014, before being recaptured by troops of the Nigerian military
