Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has provided 88 motorcycles and five vehicles to support frontline health workers in delivering essential health programs across the state.
The vehicles, handed over during a ceremony at the Government House, Kano, are aimed at enhancing the mobility of health workers involved in tackling diseases such as tuberculosis, leprosy, malaria, and HIV.
Governor Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, confirmed the development in a statement, noting that three of the vehicles were supplied by the Global Fund to aid supervisors and their teams.
Two additional vehicles will support the Immunization Plus Malaria project, which focuses on improving routine immunization, skilled birth attendance, and reducing child mortality.
The governor urged the proper utilization of the vehicles and motorcycles to maximize their impact and improve healthcare delivery in the state.
