  • It is hoped to foster cultural exchange between Nigeria, China, and Africa

The Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Jibrin Ndace, has revealed that the organization is collaborating with China to launch broadcasts in Mandarin, China’s official language.

Speaking at a dinner hosted by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) ambassadors and High Commissioners in Abuja, Mr. Ndace emphasized that this initiative would help VON reach a broader audience in China while fostering cultural exchange between Nigeria, China, and Africa.

He highlighted the importance of controlling Africa’s narrative, promoting positive stories about Nigeria and the continent, and encouraging unity among African nations. Ndace also proposed a partnership between SADC countries and VON to create a unified platform for sharing Africa’s achievements and strengths. He invited SADC journalists to collaborate in promoting travel, cultural exchange, and positive narratives about Africa, stressing the need to showcase the continent’s beauty and resilience.

Ndace concluded by urging Africans to define themselves by their resilience and successes rather than challenges, calling for unity in building a brighter future for the continent.
