A family member confirmed to SaharaReporters that the last contact with Faruq was on August 26, two days before he embarked on his journey. “We haven’t heard from him since then. All his numbers are switched off, and he’s been offline on social networks,” the relative said.

The family has reported the case to the police in Abuja and is urging the public to assist in their search. Faruq, originally from Ilorin, Kwara State, is fluent in Yoruba, English, and Hausa.
