  • The Alau Dam reportedly burst on Tuesday after being at maximum capacity for weeks.
  • The affected communities are Fori, Galtimari, Gwange, and Bulabulin with the resulting deluge.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, offered his condolences to the people of Borno State on Wednesday, following the devastating flood that has displaced thousands.

His message of sympathy was conveyed through a statement by the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, in Abuja.

Gen. Musa expressed his deep sadness upon learning of the loss of life, widespread destruction, and displacement of over 200,000 residents caused by the flood from Alao Dam.

He extended his heartfelt sympathies to the families who have lost loved ones and to the government and people of Borno State during this challenging period.
