Bandits Kill Eight Security Personnel in Zamfara Attack

  • According to local resident Mubarak Mohammed, the bandits ambushed the security team

Eight security personnel, including five policemen and three soldiers, were killed by bandits on Thursday near Tazame village in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area.

The victims were providing security for Satraco Nigeria Limited, a construction company working on the Gusau-Tsafe-Zaria road.

According to local resident Mubarak Mohammed, the bandits ambushed the security team, opening fire as they arrived, leading to a fierce gunfight.

Some bandits were also reportedly killed during the clash. The attack caused panic, with motorists fleeing the scene and abandoning their vehicles.

Zamfara State Police confirmed the attack but have not yet verified the exact number of casualties. Bandit attacks have repeatedly disrupted road construction in the area, with only limited progress made due to ongoing violence.
