They were arraigned on a count charge of armed robbery.

The Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Oladele, rejected the plea of the defendants for want of jurisdiction.

She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

She thereafter adjourned the case until Nov. 14 for mention.

The prosecutor, Insp Femi Omilana, had earlier disclosed that the defendants committed the offence on Sept. 13, at 9.00 a.m., in the Saki area of Oyo State.

Omilana told the court that the defendants, while armed with a gun and cutlasses, robbed two people of goods valued at N340,000.

According to him, the defendants stole three bags of Soya beans worth N60,000 from one Mr Moshood Isau and a motorcycle worth N280,000 from one Mr Ibrahim Yuma.

He said the offence contravened Section 1 (2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004
