  • The officers were confirmed to be from Kafaru Oluwole Tinubu Area C police command in Surulere area of the state.

The Lagos State Police Command has called in four officers accused of extorting NYSC members.

A series of videos posted on X on Friday showed police officers stopping a car carrying three alleged corps members in Surulere.

The officers checked the vehicle documents of the driver, another corps member.

The officers then escorted them to the station, and receipts of alleged payments to the police went viral.

The implicated officers are from Kafaru Oluwole Tinubu Area C police command.

Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos police spokesperson, confirmed the officers’ summons.

“The men have been summoned and their trial has commenced,” he wrote.

“We urge the complainants to visit the Complaint Response Unit at the State Headquarters to testify at the ongoing trial.

“They are men of Area C, Surulere. The Area Commander has been contacted. The men have been identified. They are being interrogated.

“However, we need more than a verbal accusation.

“Kindly tell us more. The spy camera would have captured the exchange of money too, be it cash or transfer.”
