Gunmen have abducted Pastor Adewumi of the First ECWA Church and a computer engineer, Adeyemi, from their homes in Olla, Kwara State, over the weekend.

According to local resident Mrs Yusuf Adekunle, the kidnappers stormed Pastor Adewumi’s home around 8:30pm. “They arrived with guns and took him away,” she told Daily Trust.

As they were leaving, they inquired about a vehicle parked nearby. When Pastor Adewumi informed them it belonged to his neighbour, Engineer Adeyemi, the gunmen ordered him to lead them to his house. “They made him knock on his neighbour’s door, claiming he wanted to see him. Once Adeyemi opened the door, they seized him as well and took both men away,” she explained.

At the time of reporting, no contact had been made by the kidnappers with the victims’ families. Police spokesperson DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi said she was gathering more information and would respond in due course.
