Son, 19, stabs 60-year-old father to death in Kogi

One Abba Yusuf has allegedly killed his 60-year-old father, Alhaji Dahiru Yusuf Maileather, in Kogi State.

The 19-year-old suspect reportedly stabbed his father to death at about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday in Sarkin-Noma area of Lokoja, the State capital.

The elder brother of the deceased, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Bala, confirmed the tragic incident to newsmen.

“When my sister called me, she said our brother had been killed by his son. I quickly ran to my brother’s residence only to be told he had been moved to a hospital,” he said.

According to Bala, the suspect has been handed over to the police. He also disclosed that the mother of the suspect and her other two children have fled to an unknown destination.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovye Aya, is yet to comment or issue a statement regarding the incident.
