The abducted district head of Kanya District, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Isah Daya, has been killed by his captors.

Abubakar, in his statement, disclosed that Daya’s dead body was discovered in the bush.

He said: “Acting on credible intelligence and given the determination and resilience of the combined team of policemen, military and members of the vigilante, eight victims of the kidnapping incident of October 6, 2024, at Kanya District of Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, have successfully been rescued unhurt on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at about 1000hrs, at Sakaba forest after a gun duel.

” The rescued victims have since been reunited with their families after medical attention at the General Hospital, Sakaba. Regrettably, while the search and rescue operation was ongoing, the dead body of the district head of Kanya, Alhaji Isah Daya was found in the forest.

“Given the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello Sani, is using this medium to condole with the Kebbi State Government, the Zuru Emirate, the immediate family and well-wishers of the late district head of Kanya, and prays that his gentle soul continues to rest in Jannatul Firdaus.”

The statement further said the CP solicited members of the public to provide the command and other security agencies with relevant information that would assist in arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly act
