The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has foiled attempts to smuggle illicit drugs to the UK, discovering them hidden in parcels of tiger nuts and bags of groundnuts.
The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in videos shared on X.com on Sunday, 10th of November, 2024.
Femi Babafemi also warned against accepting packages without thoroughly checking their contents.
Sharing the videos, he wrote, “Once again, never accept any package on your journey, no matter how genuine it looks, without a thorough search.
“These videos showing the moment NDLEA officers uncovered illicit drugs in parcels of tiger nuts bound for the UK, and in bags of groundnuts in a bus, reinforce this warning.”
