The Kebbi State government has indefinitely suspended staff from the Ministry of Lands and Housing involved in land grabbing and illicit sales, following a series of complaints.

He revealed that the implicated staff issued fake land grants on certified government land, tarnishing the ministry’s reputation.

“We will not tolerate actions that damage this administration’s image. A thorough investigation will be conducted,” Dangi-Juli stated.

The Permanent Secretary of Lands and Housing, TPL Abubakar Ahmad-Muhammad, added that two suspects had been arrested for illegal land sales and forgery of grant letters, while efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the syndicate.

One of the suspects, Nasiru Ibrahim, admitted to facilitating the sale of land with fake documents signed by ministry staff. The buyer, Nafi’u Mohammed, denied involvement in land subdivision, stating he purchased the property for N10 million, believing it was legitimately owned.

The ministry is committed to ensuring all individuals involved are brought to justice.
