The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has attributed the ongoing blackout in parts of Imo and Abia states to a loss of power supply from the Alaoji Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Station.

The blackout, which began at 7:45am on Thursday, has affected areas including New Owerri, Owerri Urban, Owerri Rural, Orlu, Mbaise, and parts of Umuahia.

EEDC spokesperson Emeka Ezeh confirmed that the cause of the outage is still unknown and apologized for the inconvenience, urging customers to be patient as efforts are made to restore power.
