  • Dr. Hamid Bobboyi emphasizes the importance of attitude transformation in smart schools to prepare Nigerian students for global competition

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has initiated a training program in Kano, focusing on promoting attitudinal change among teachers and school administrators.

The initiative aims to enhance the quality of basic education in Nigeria by addressing behavioural and professional attitudes.

Speaking at the program’s launch, UBEC Executive Secretary Dr. Hamid Bobboyi emphasized the need for attitude transformation, particularly in smart schools where the federal government has invested heavily in modern educational technology.

These efforts, he noted, are geared toward preparing Nigerian students to compete globally.

The training, organized in partnership with the National Teachers Institute (NTI), aims to create a broader impact through professional development.

NTI Director General Prof. Musa Garba Maitafsir pledged the institute’s commitment to training more educators to support UBEC’s goals.

Professor Bashir Galadanci, National Coordinator of the UBEC Digital Resource Centre, highlighted the critical role of attitude in ensuring the program’s success.

He commended UBEC’s leadership under Dr. Bobboyi for prioritizing advancements in Nigeria’s education sector.

The training, held in locations like Kano, Lafia, Ibadan, and Yola, has equipped 195 teachers from smart schools nationwide with new skills and perspectives. UBEC’s commitment to improving teacher capacity reflects its vision of strengthening Nigeria’s education system.
