President Bola Tinubu has approved the release of funds to clear pension arrears, salary increases, and other entitlements owed to retired military personnel.

This follows two days of peaceful protests by military veterans at the Federal Ministry of Finance.

Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, announced the development on Friday, expressing gratitude to the President for his swift intervention.

In a statement by the Ministry of Defence spokesperson, Henshaw Ogubike, Matawalle confirmed that payment alerts for the salary increases had already been received by military personnel. He commended Tinubu’s commitment to the welfare of active and retired personnel and the settlement of outstanding pension arrears.
