Niger Police Arrest Man, Accomplices for Sister’s Murder

The Niger State Police Command has arrested Habibu Umaru and two others for the alleged murder of his sister, Hadiza Umaru, in Bosso Local Government Area.

Hadiza, reported missing on December 1, 2024, was found to have been lured by her brother to a herbalist, Aliyu Mallam Taiwe, who, along with accomplice Rabiu Aliyu, gave her a poisonous substance, claiming it was for treating “evil spirits.” She died instantly and was buried in a shallow grave near Maitumbi.

Police Commissioner Shawulu Danmamman revealed that investigations also uncovered three additional graves linked to the suspects.

He said, “The victim’s brother and the herbalist confessed to their roles, and the suspects will be charged to court after investigations.”
