According to him, the agency received a distress call regarding the incident from one Hassan at 3:46 a.m. and promptly dispatched personnel to the scene.

“Upon arrival, we found the upper floor of a six-room residential building engulfed in flames, and we quickly took action to extinguish the fire completely,” he stated.

He confirmed that three individuals—a husband, his wife, and their grandson—lost their lives in the inferno, while five others were rescued safely from the building.

Akinyinka disclosed that the ground floor and nearby properties were not affected by the fire.

“Our investigation revealed that the family attempted to keep warm due to the cold weather by using an open flame, which ultimately led to the fire disaster after they had fallen asleep,” he explained
