  • The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association urged members to remain calm and trust security agencies to ensure justice for the victims

Gunmen attacked cattle rearers in the Heipang area of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State, on Wednesday morning. The assault left several cattle dead and many injured.

According to Ibrahim Babayo Yusuf, Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the state, the attackers stormed the area and began shooting randomly.

This forced the herders to flee, leaving their cattle behind.

The incident was promptly reported to Operation Safe Haven, a local security outfit. Yusuf stated that the security personnel pledged to investigate the attack and apprehend those responsible.
