Two die as explosion rocks Delta State

At least two people have reportedly lost their lives after a tanker conveying diesel exploded in Delta State.

Properties, including vehicles, were also torched during the devastating explosion which happened at Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the State.

The cause of the tanker explosion on Sunday is yet to be ascertained as details of the incident are still hazy at the time of this report.

However, it was learnt that the tanker fell on a vehicle while the driver was trying to avoid hitting the same vehicle.

The Delta State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the tragic incident.

In a statement on Sunday, he disclosed that two persons, a man and a woman, died in the incident.

Edafe noted that the tanker was laden with diesel, and not fuel, as was widely reported by some section of the media.
