Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State signed a total of 334 Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for building owners in the state during the last quarter of 2024, according to the Chairman of Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KWGIS), ESV Abdulkareem Sulyman.

Speaking at a quarterly inter-ministerial press briefing organized by the Ministry of Communications, Sulyman confirmed that 178 of these certificates have been processed and signed, making them ready for collection.

He highlighted the achievements of the agency, stating:

  • 156 C of O processed in Q2 and 178 in Q4 of 2024, totaling 334 ready for collection.
  • 878 Statutory Rights of Occupancy were processed for certificate production.
  • 645 Survey Reports were handled for statutory rights.

Additionally, he noted that 12 Lands Registration Certificates were issued after applicants met all necessary registration requirements.

Regarding ongoing government land reclamation exercises, Sulyman emphasized that the directive to reclaim government setbacks around public institutions and offices aligns with federal measures to address insecurity. This initiative is set to cover all 16 local government areas of the state.

On the Ilorin Smart City project, Sulyman announced that preliminary activities have been completed on the 19,000 hectares designated for the development.
