In Kano State, one Abba Kabir Ma’aji, a security guard, has killed himself, tossing his neighbours and family members into the cauldron of sorrow and despair.
The incident happened in Kankarofi ward of Kano Local Government Area around 1:30 on Tuesday.
According to locals privy to the incident, the young man was found dead by hanging.
One young man, who requested to remain anonymous, said, “It’s truly terrifying to hear that someone has hanged himself. we were informed that Abba had taken his own life.”
A neighbor added, “We were sitting when we heard screams coming from inside the house. When we entered, we saw him being taken down from the rope, and his body was laid in the middle of the room.”
The neighbor further mentioned, “The community leader has been informed, and he is trying to contact the police to report the incident, but the body has not yet been prepared for burial.”
The deceased was said to be a security officer working with a private security company in Kano, and there were no apparent signs of mental instability.
As of now, the reason for Abba Kabir’s tragic death remains unclear.
The Kano State Police Command is expected to provide further details on this unusual incident in the coming hours as there is no immediate response as at the time of filing this report.
