  • The pharmacy’s managing director and superintendent pharmacist were arrested for questioning

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed a pharmacy on Onitsha Crescent, Area 11—Garki, Abuja, for selling expired and unregistered drugs.

In a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, NAFDAC revealed that its enforcement team confiscated expired products worth over ₦7 million, including “H-Pylori” test kits, which pose significant health risks.

The pharmacy’s managing director and superintendent pharmacist were arrested for questioning, while the premises were secured despite attempts by staff to obstruct the operation.

“NAFDAC has sealed off a pharmacy… for selling expired and unregistered drugs,” the statement read. “Acting on a tip-off, the enforcement team uncovered several expired items… and imposed stringent sanctions to deter unethical practices.”
