Ekweremadu’s wife returns to Nigeria after serving jail sentence in UK

Authorities in the United Kingdom have released mrs Beatrice Ekweremadu, wife of former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, from prison.

She returned to Nigeria on Tuesday after she regained her freedom, DAILY POST reports.

Recall that a UK court had sentenced Senator Ekweremadu, the wife and one Dr Obinna Obeta to prison for their involvement in organ harvesting.

The former deputy senate president was sentenced to 10 years, while his wife was sentenced to four years.

The return of Mrs Ekweremadu has reportedly sparked jubilation across Enugu State, with many hoping and praying to have the Deputy Senate President back in the shortest possible time.
