A shocking case of abduction and gang rape has led to the arrest of three suspects in Sokoto State, Nigeria.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) apprehended the suspects, identified as Halidu Shehu, Jamilu Umar, and Usama Bello, on January 23, 2025.

According to a statement released by the NSCDC Sokoto State Command, the suspects held 15-year-old Amina Abdullahi captive for over three days, subjecting her to repeated sexual assaults. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was drugged and lured by an accomplice, Rabia’tu, who remains at large.

The NSCDC has assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend Rabia’tu and that the suspects will face the full weight of the law. The Commandant, Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, condemned the act as “horrific and inhumane,” emphasizing the need for parents and guardians to remain vigilant and protective of their children.
