- Governor Lawal commended security forces for their efforts
Governor Dauda Lawal has praised the Department of State Services (DSS) for intercepting an arms shipment destined for Zamfara State.
The weapons, including a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG), two machine guns, nine AK-47 rifles, two pistols, 19 magazines, and over a thousand rounds of ammunition, were displayed at the government house in Gusau on Tuesday.
According to the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, DSS personnel tracked the suspected gunrunner from Niger Republic before arresting him on the Zurmi/Kauran Namoda highway.
Governor Lawal commended security forces for their efforts in combating banditry, stating that such arrests were becoming more frequent. He urged residents to support security personnel in their fight against criminal activities.
