  • The Building the Future Support for Social Development Initiative has enrolled 800 out-of-school children across all 17 local government areas in Yobe State
  • The initiative aims to support orphans and children unable to afford education due to financial constraints, addressing significant educational challenges

Building the Future Support for Social Development Initiative (BTF), a non-governmental organisation, has enrolled 800 out-of-school children in schools across Yobe State.

Mr. Abubakar Abba Gana Tata, the founder of BTF, announced this during the first conference on “Rebuilding Education in Yobe State,” themed ‘Harmonizing Efforts for Educational Transformation in Yobe State.’

The enrolled children were selected from all 17 local government areas (LGAs) of Yobe State.

According to Mr. Tata, BTF initiated a school support project in these LGAs to help orphans and children whose parents or guardians cannot afford to enroll them due to financial constraints. These include the inability to purchase uniforms, books, or other essential supplies.

“Yobe State has faced significant educational challenges due to insurgency, poverty, and inadequate infrastructure. These factors have resulted in some of the lowest education indicators in the country,” Mr. Tata said.

He emphasized that collaborative efforts involving all stakeholders are crucial to addressing these issues and improving the education system in the state.

“The complexity of these challenges calls for a united approach involving all sectors to create lasting educational transformation,” he added.
