- It said it’s a necessary restructuring move to ensure long-term sustainability
Kaduna Electric has confirmed that 450 employees were issued “services no longer required” letters, contrary to labour unions’ claims that 900 workers were affected.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company cited severe operational and financial challenges as the reason for the decision, describing it as a necessary restructuring move to ensure long-term sustainability.
The ongoing strike by labour unions has led to a power outage lasting over 24 hours in some areas.
Kaduna Electric expressed regret over the disruption and assured customers of its commitment to restoring normal operations.
The company also thanked security agencies for ensuring the safety of its personnel and facilities during the strike.
