The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has secured 26,287 pilgrim spaces in Mashair and reserved another 26,000, pending final payments by February 13, 2025.
NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Fatima Sanda Usara, confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday, noting that 52,000 Nigerian pilgrims are expected for the 2025 Hajj.
“This proactive move, led by NAHCON Chairman Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, ensures compliance with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s February 14 deadline for finalizing contract agreements,” the statement read.
Professor Usman signed an agreement on January 17, 2025, at NAHCON’s Ummul Judd office in Makkah, following consultations with key stakeholders, including State Chairmen, board members, and a presidential representative.
To prevent last-minute setbacks, Professor Usman sought and received approval from Vice President Kashim Shettima to finalize the critical contract in Makkah, essential for uploading visas starting February 19.
He thanked the Vice President for his support and swift approval, ensuring a smooth Hajj process for Nigerian pilgrims.
Professor Usman also urged intending pilgrims to stay updated through NAHCON’s official channels and assured them of a seamless Hajj experience.
