The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Michael for allegedly stabbing his friend, Uchenna, to death during a dispute over a missing phone.
According to The Whistler, the incident occurred on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Egede Street, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt.
According to sources, Uchenna had visited Michael at his residence when Michael noticed his phone was missing and accused his friend of stealing it.
Despite Uchenna’s denial, the argument escalated, leading Michael to stab him in the stomach with a jackknife.
Uchenna was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
Meanwhile, police arrested Michael, and he has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.
Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing.
