The Plateau State Government has pledged full support for the revival of the N8.5 billion Hill Station Resort to enhance tourism in the state.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang emphasized the project’s significance to Plateau’s development. He stated that Hillside Hospitality Limited, an investee company of Strom Infrastructure Investments and Management Ltd, aligns with the state’s economic growth agenda.
The governor, represented by Arch. Samuel N. Jatau, the secretary to the state government, confirmed that construction will begin in March 2025.
The project follows the signing of the Heads of Terms Agreement in July 2024 and involves a strategic partnership between the Plateau State Government and Hillside Hospitality Limited.
The initiative aims to restore the historic 1938 structure while incorporating modern luxury amenities.
Mr. Kolapo Joseph, Director of Hillside Hospitality Limited, described the project as a groundbreaking step toward transforming Plateau’s hospitality and tourism landscape.
“This initiative goes beyond revitalization; it honours Hill Station’s rich heritage while setting new hospitality standards. Our goal is to merge luxury, culture, and nature, creating a world-class tourist destination in Jos,” he said.
He noted that Plateau State holds vast potential as a hospitality hub. The company is committed to working with stakeholders to drive economic growth, create jobs, and foster community pride.
Through collaboration and strategic investment, Hill Station Resort will become a premier destination, showcasing the best of Nigerian tourism.
Joseph expressed gratitude for the support from the Plateau State Government and private sector partners. He highlighted that the investment extends beyond infrastructure, aiming to attract business and leisure travellers while preserving the site’s historical significance.
The revamped resort is expected to unlock new economic opportunities and elevate Plateau State’s tourism appeal.
