  • Authorities are now conducting follow-up operations to apprehend the remaining members of the criminal syndicate

Troops from 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State have arrested two notorious kidnappers and terrorists during a sting operation in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

According to Zagazola Makama the operation codenamed Operation Golden Peace was conducted on 24 February at about 2:20 p.m. in Lugere Sho, following actionable intelligence obtained from a suspect arrested on 22 February.

During the raid, another high-profile kidnapper was apprehended at Kwok Village. The suspect, now in custody, is reportedly confessing to previous crimes, including multiple kidnappings in Plateau and Nasarawa States.

Military intelligence also revealed that one of the arrested individuals admitted sustaining gunshot wounds in an earlier encounter and provided details on the identities and hideouts of their accomplices in the area.
