- Obasa’s re-election followed the nomination of a former Majority Leader of the House, Noheem Adams, representing Eti-Osa Constituency 1.
The Lagos State House of Assembly has once again chosen Mudashiru Obasa as speaker, almost two months following his removal from office in January this year.
The announcement of his re-election took place in the House chamber on Monday, after speaker Moji Meranda stepped down, concluding weeks of internal disputes troubling the assembly.
Earlier, Obasa dismissed his impeachment as a mere joke, insisting that the process did not adhere to the required legal and procedural framework.
He also reassured that he would not take action against over 30 state lawmakers who had voted him out, referring to them as his siblings.
