Dikko Radda, the governor of Katsina State, has affirmed his administration’s commitment to making the state a centre of academic excellence through strategic investments.
On Tuesday, he announced this while inaugurating the refurbished Family Support Programme (FSP) Nursery and Primary School in the state capital.
NAN reports that the renovation was funded by the Oando Foundation and facilitated by Zainab Musa-Musawa, the commissioner for secondary and basic education.
He outlined his vision for students to develop strong academic abilities, critical thinking skills, creativity, and moral values to prepare them for future challenges.
“The renovation and equipment of this Family Support Programme School is a tangible demonstration of dedication by providing a conducive learning environment for our children,” the governor said.
“A well-maintained resource reached school as essential for fostering a love of learning and nurturing the intellectual growth of our students.”
Radda described the project as part of corporate social responsibility efforts designed to enhance students’ educational experience and overall development.
He emphasised that his administration is prioritising increased student enrollment and raising education quality at all levels within the state.
“We are determined to ensure that our graduates are equipped with skills and knowledge required to excel in disciplines that will directly benefit the state,” he added.
“We are spared to see a significant increase in the number of our students pursuing careers in medicine, engineering, technology, agriculture and other critical sectors of development.”
The governor noted that the government is already improving school infrastructure and training teachers with modern tools to enhance learning experiences.
“We have also been involved in curriculum enhancement to make learning more practical by the global standard,” he noted.
He called on parents, educators, community leaders, and private investors to support his administration’s drive to develop education in the state.
“Let us work together to create a brighter future for our children and a more prosperous Katsina state. Let’s provide every child with an opportunity to reach his/her full potential,” he added.
“I am encouraging private sector organisations to emulate this novel effort of investing in the future of our children.”
