Police commander slumps, dies during meal in Abia

• Ndu was said to have slumped and died while eating with fellow officers in the command’s canteen

A dark cloud of sorrow and anguish descended on Zone 9 Police Command, Umuahia, Abia State on Thursday following the death of one of its top officers.

The mysterious death of the Commander of the SRS in Umuahia, DSP Kenneth Ndu, on Thursday cast a shadow of gloom and despair over the command.

Ndu was said to have slumped and died while eating with fellow officers in the command’s canteen.

According to sources, DSP Ndu had just returned from an investigative operation with his team when he decided to have a meal at the command headquarters.

While eating, he reportedly gripped his spoon firmly, causing concern among his colleagues, who immediately rushed to assist him.

Moments later, he collapse.

He was taken to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Umuahia, where doctors confirmed his death and his body was deposited in the morgue.

No statement has been issued by the Police concerning the sad event, as of the time of this report.
