At least fifteen people were killed when terrorists attacked Kwallajiya village of Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The attack, which happened on Wednesday afternoon, was carried out by bandits suspected to be members of Lakurawa, a local told newsmen.
According to the source who spoke in confidence, the victims had been buried according to Islamic rites on Wednesday evening.
He bemoaned the spate of violence and atrocities perpetrated by the terrorists against defenceless and suffering villagers in many parts of the State.
“We are deeply concerned about the continued acts of violence and the suffering communities are experiencing at the hands of bandits in various parts of this state.
“We strongly believe that such atrocities are often aided by information the bandits receive from some residents of the villages.
“It is, therefore, imperative that the public also intensify efforts to cooperate with security agencies,” the source said.
The state government and police in the northwest state have not reacted to the incident.
