- Eze stated that Wike, who was an errand boy to Amaechi, is denying everyone who made one who pulled him out of abject poverty which defined the family he came from
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has tackled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, over some of the claims he made in a recent interview.
While speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today last week Thursday, Wike, among other things, claimed that, unlike his former boss, Chibuike Amaechi, he came from a rich family and attended school driving in his own car.
Reacting to Wike’s claims, Eze, an ally of Amaechi, said Wike’s portrayal of his past is suffused with falsehood and half-truths, hence making him a laughing stock.
Eze stated that Wike, who was an errand boy to Amaechi, is denying everyone who made one who pulled him out of abject poverty which defined the family he came from.
He disclosed that Wike’s father disowned him and it was his friend’s father who paid for his school fees, noting that Wike’s denial of his unsavoury past was geared towards justifying his lavish lifestyle.
Eze wondered whether it was Wike who made himself a Local Government Chairman, Chief of Staff to Amaechi and later nominated himself as a Minister during the Jonathan regime.
“Trying to claim how rich his father was when poverty that radiated his family was as strong as the direct ray of the sun, is denying his background,” Eze said in a statement he signed and made available to reporters over the weekend.
“His father, if alive, would be disappointed in his act of self-denial to justify his lavish living with public funds. Not minding that his father disowned him because of his character and if not for his friend’s father who assisted him by paying his school fees, Nigerians would have been spared from having such a charlatan in public service”
