  • Police said that the suspect entered house with robbery intent and stabbed victim multiple times.
  • The suspect drove the stolen Camry to Ikorodu, hoping to sell it off quickly.

The police command in Ogun has arrested a 25-year-old driver, Ayomide Oluwadamilare, for allegedly murdering his former employer, Mr Kola Adun.

The late Adun was a resident of River Valley Estate in Ojodu, Berger, Lagos.

The command’s spokesperson, the police public relations officer, Omolola Odutola, disclosed the arrest in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abeokuta.

She said the command received a distress call from Mubarak area in Akute over a foul odour coming from the deceased’s home.

According to her, officers who responded promptly discovered Adun’s decomposing body with visible stab wounds.

She added that the victim’s Toyota Camry, with registration number LAGOS AAA 193 GC, was missing from the residence.

“There were bloodstains at the scene and the corpse was found on July 7, 2025,” Odutola said.

She stated that the remains have been evacuated to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, for autopsy.

“The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation and prosecution,” she added.

Odutola said preliminary investigations showed the suspect unlawfully gained entry into Adun’s home on Saturday, July 5, 2025.

“He entered with intent to rob, stabbed the deceased to death and fled with the vehicle,” the PPRO said.

Suspicion was first raised on Sunday morning, July 6, when a friend went to pick Adun for church service.

The friend discovered that the gate was locked from the outside and the victim’s phone was unreachable.

“Several calls were put to the victim, which were unanswered before the phone was switched off,” Odutola added.

She noted that the concerned friend alerted the family and made a report at Ojodu Berger Police Station.

The police spokesperson said the suspect was later caught in Ijede, Ikorodu, while attempting to sell the stolen vehicle.

“The car dealer, sensing something suspicious, contacted the police who moved swiftly to arrest the suspect at the point of sale,” she added.
