One Augustina Mowari has allegedly killed his 25-year-old boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, over infidelity in Ondo State.
The deceased was stabbed to death by the suspect over the weekend in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of the southwest state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the tragic incident on Monday.
He revealed that the suspect had been arrested and she is in custody, adding that the case will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations are concluded.
Mowari was said to have stabbed the deceased with a pair of scissors during a heated argument that ensued in the one-room apartment where the two lovers were cohabiting.
Narrating the incident, a source said Augustina and Michael had frequently been involved in feisty altercations over allegations of infidelity, but the latest altercation resulted in the death of Michael.
“That was not the first time they had engaged in a heated confrontation. This last one, Augustina accused Michael of cheating on her with another woman. Within seconds, there was a shouting match between the two and it resulted in a fight. It was in the process that she brought out a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the leg. They were both living together.”
Meanwhile, Michael’s health was said to have worsened after he was initially taken to a hospital he was given treatment before he was discharged.
On getting home, his condition deteriorated as his leg became swollen. He was immediately rushed back to the hospital on Sunday night. But unfortunately, he gave up the ghost.
