Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State will embark on a three-week medical leave starting Monday, August 18, 2025, to address health concerns.
In a statement issued on Thursday by Bala Salisu Zango, the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Radda thanked the people of the state for their understanding, support, and prayers. He assured them of his commitment to return with renewed energy to continue serving.
“Taking the necessary steps to prioritise my health is essential so I can continue to serve effectively and make the best decisions for our state,” the governor said.
To ensure uninterrupted governance, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal, HCIB (Sarkin Fulanin Jobe), will assume the role of acting governor during Radda’s absence.
The governor expressed full confidence in his deputy’s ability to lead with dedication and commitment.
The state government also assured residents that all ongoing programs, projects, and initiatives under Radda’s “Building Your Future Agenda” will continue without disruption.
The administration looks forward to the governor’s return in good health to continue steering Katsina toward its development goals.
